         PYROMETALLURGY


It involves heating of material at high temp.(100-3000 ºC) in kiln, furnace, roaster, dryer, smelter, converter.
The imp.processesare:

(1)Drying(T=100-150 ºC)

(2)Calcining(T=250-1000 ºC)

(3)Roasting(T=500-1100 ºC)
-Oxidising,Reducing,Chloridizing,Sulfatizing,Volatizing.

(4)Agglomaration: sintering,pelletization,briquetting.

(5)Smelting: reduction smelting & matt smelting.

(6)Distillation: M-comp. M…..(T >Tboiling)
